Juventus had almost given up hopes to part ways with Aaron Ramsey, but he finally accepted to leave on deadline day. Multiple Premier League unsuccessfully tried to bring him back to England. Instead, he will play in nearby Scotland, more precisely at Glasgow Rangers.
According to Tuttosport, the two clubs reached agreement on a season-long loan with a €5.5M option to buy. Some conditions, like for instance winning the title, will automatically trigger it. The Scottish outfit reportedly offered the Welshman a four-year contract with €4M wages. He earned €7M at Turin, and so he will transfer on a temporary spell to facilitate his exit, with the Bianconeri making up the difference.
Ramsey originally joined Juventus on a Bosman move from Arsenal in 2019. The oft-injured midfielder collected over 20 appearances in each of his first two seasons at the club, tallying 5 goals and 6 assists. The management attempted to move on from him last summer. He has rarely seen the pitch in the 2021-2022 campaign. He has made just five appearances so far and has not played since October 10th.
The 31-year-old was previously linked to Newcastle, Burnley, Crystal Palace, and Wolverhampton. Ramsey eventually agreed to depart as he realized he would not have featured for Juventus in the next six months, the publication adds. He is under contract until 2023.
As far as midfielders are concerned, the Old Lady confirmed the signing of Denis Zakaria from Borussia Moenchengladbach for €5M. He penned a contract until 2026 with €3M wages, Calciomercato.com informs.
