Juventus Table Formal Bid to Extend Expiring Star’s Contract

Juventus were said to be piecing together a contract proposal for Adrien Rabiot, whose deal at the Allianz Stadium is due to expire at the end of June. According to Calciomercato, the record-time Serie A champions have tabled a tangible €8m-a-year offer in a last-ditch attempt to convince their midfielder to pen the papers.

Rabiot’s future at Juventus was among the major talking points at the beginning of last summer. It’s the same story all over again. Though this time, the Frencham has a valid distraction as he prepares for the upcoming European Championship.

Juventus would like to close negotiations before Euro 2024 kicks off. However, the ball is in Rabiot’s court, and he remains hidden behind the curtain. His mother-agent Veronique has been clear. She wants her son to become the highest-paid Bianconeri player.

But that’ll likely be nothing more than wishful thinking. Juventus have made their offer, and by the looks of things, it’s ‘take it or leave it.’ Now, it’s up to Rabiot to decide. Last summer, Manchester United vied for his signature. The Red Devils’ interest has since faded.

Staying at Juventus makes perfect sense. The club sees him as an invaluable first-team asset and is ready to hand him the captain’s armband once Danilo’s career in Turin comes to a close. The 29-year-old was the acting captain in 2023/24 while the Brazilian was injured.

It’s now entirely up to Rabiot to decide. Juventus and Thiago Motta want him in the locker room next term. Whether the feeling is mutual remains a mystery.
