Italian tactician Cesare Prandelli has made a bold prediction regarding what promises to be a thrilling Scudetto race, naming Juventus among the leading candidates to win the Serie A title. According to the former national team coach, another one-team show, as happened last season with Partenopei, is off the table.

Napoli enjoyed a sensational 2022/23 campaign in Serie A, dominating the league from top to bottom en route to ending a 33-year title wait. However, new manager Rudi Garcia has had difficulties at the start of his career at Stadio Diego Armando Maradona, casting doubt on the club’s hopes of defending the crown.

Their rivals, on the other hand, have gone from strength to strength. Milan and Inter have quickly established themselves as the leading candidates to dethrone the southern outfit. But watch out for Juventus, who, despite facing massive off-field problems and failing to impress in the transfer window, are knocking on the door again.

Massimiliano Allegri’s men have outperformed expectations across the opening eight rounds. Following a 2-0 Derby della Mole win over Torino on Saturday, Juventus will enter the international break inside the top four, only four points adrift of pacesetters Milan. Interestingly, the two sides will lock horns once Serie A returns to action later in October.

That mouth-watering showdown at the San Siro will be an ideal opportunity for Juventus to prove their title credentials. As far as Prandelli is concerned, the Turin giants will be in the title mix after three years of suffering.

Will there be a breakaway like that of Napoli last year? No, there are four of them, and they are more or less all there. Including Juventus,” he said, as quoted by Tuttojuve
