Juventus to Host Agent of Unhappy Tottenham Midfielder

Pierre Emile Hojbjerg is more than an idea for Juventus, which will probably have to sign a new midfielder in January due to the Paul Pogba situation. His agent will be in Turin shortly to gauge their level of interest. They have been courting him for a while, Corriere dello Sport informs.

The Dane has become a fringe player under coach Ante Postecoglou, featuring for just 78 minutes through 5 appearances. He’d like to switch sides to play more regularly and wouldn’t mind the destination. He has made over 220 Premier League appearances, plus 56 in the Bundesliga with Schalke 04, Bayern Munich, and Augsburg beforehand.

On the other hand, Juventus have to operate on a budget, and they’ll at best propose a loan with an option to buy to lure Hojbjerg in January. Instead, Tottenham reportedly want €30M to part ways with the midfielder. He’s only under contract till 2025, though. Atletico Madrid tracked him insistently in the past window.

The two sides have a good rapport and negotiated the sale of Dejan Kulusevski last summer, changing the terms after the Spurs refused to pick their clause to make his transfer permanent.

Our Take on Juventus and Hojbjerg

They need somebody like him regardless of Pogba, but it seems more like a summer purchase than a January addition given its cost. The terms would have to be really favorable otherwise.
