Juventus to Make Another Attempt to Purchase Berardi

Juventus aren’t thinking only about the midfield ahead of the January window, as they might rekindle their interest in Domenico Berardi. Their management recently talked strategy with coach Massimiliano Allegri. Under the right circumstances, they could sign an attacker with diverse traits compared to those already in the squad, Sky Italy reported.

The Sassuolo star would fit the bill. The winger had missed the early games to push for a move to Turin to finally join a top team. However, the Neroverdi held firm on their demands. The offer from the Old Lady never came close to their price tag.

Since Juventus don’t have much to spend, they’d have to choose between investing in Berardi or a quality midfielder. They could always concoct a favorable multi-year payment with Sassuolo, should they concur on the star’s valuation, which didn’t happen in previous windows.

The Bianconeri reportedly wanted to insert either Samuel Iling Junior or Matias Soulé in the deal to lower the monetary disbursement.

Our Take on Juventus and Berardi

They already have a player with similar characteristics, Federico Chiesa, and their paltry style does him no favor. They can’t coexist unless they switch to a trident, which is always possible, but there have been no hints of that so far. Since they are cash-strapped, it’s hard to imagine they’d spend big for an older player, even if he’s productive. They could just try to recall the Frosinone starlet if they want a left-footed right winger.
