Juventus to Meet with Raiola to Discuss Bernardeschi and More

Mino Raiola will soon pay a visit to Juventus to discuss several matters. The main topic will be the extension of Federico Bernardeschi, who is on an expiring contract. But it will not be their sole focus, Calciomercato.com reports.

The winger had almost entirely fallen out of favor in the past two seasons. However, the return of Massimiliano Allegri and the Euro re-energized him. Juventus tried to sell him in the past two windows to no avail, as he rejected multiple offers. The role he gained in the early going could very well earn him a new contract.

On the other hand, Juventus will propose a pay cut, from €4M per year to €2.5/3M. The player clearly is not thrilled with such prospect. Moreover, the parties are a couple of years apart on the duration of the new deal. The negotiation could be rather complex. However, there is no bad blood between the sides, and both would not mind sticking together.

Juventus are hoping to find at least some common ground in the upcoming talks. Otherwise, they would have to make some evaluations pertaining to the January window to avoid losing an asset for nothing. But things are still preliminary on that front.

On top of Bernardeschi, the Bianconeri will also touch on the future of Matthijs De Ligt and Mohammed Ihattaren in the summit with Raiola. Furthermore, they are chasing after his clients Paul Pobga and Alessio Romagnoli, whose contracts are up in June 2022.
