Juventus to Offload One Goalie Before Adding Di Gregorio

Juventus have put their hands on Michele Di Gregorio but would rather sort out the future of their two current goalkeepers, Wojciech Szczesny and Mattia Perin, before onboarding a third one. For economic reasons, the Bianconeri would like to sell the former.

According to Alfredo Pedullà, the Pole has never truly considered leaving the Old Lady so far. However, he might take the hint since the club is about to sign his heir.

Juventus are open for business for Szczesny, who should soon draw offers from the Premier League and Saudi Arabia. The shot-stopper was courted by the Middle Eastern championship in the past but repelled the advances.

The veteran has one more year on his contract with the Bianconeri. The management has been trying to reduce his €7M yearly salary. After their unsuccessful efforts, they reached an agreement in principle to sign Di Gregorio on loan with an €18M obligation to buy from Monza. Liverpool inquired as well, but he plans to keep his word, Nicolò Schira reports.

If the Old Lady can’t find a landing spot for their present starter, they’ll look to part ways with Mattia Perin.

Our Take on Juventus, Szczesny, and Di Gregorio

They can probably stomach the cohabitation for one season even though it wouldn’t be ideal, as they’d lose the Pole for free in such a scenario. The key matter is whether they’ll wait to officialize the deal with Monza, potentially exposing themselves to other teams swooping in, or if they’ll go ahead anyway and find a solution later.
