Juventus Unlikely to Add Man United Fringe Star in January

Donny van de Beek might be on his way out of Manchester United. Despite the links in the English press, a move to Juventus in the next window is a long-shot proposition at best. The Bianconeri do like the player a lot. However, the acquisition would be too expensive for them at the moment, Calciomercato.com reports.

The midfielder joined the Red Devils for €40M in September 2020. Should the English club really let him go, they would not do it for cheap. Van de Beek has had limited success during his time in the Premier League, scoring just once in 21 appearances. He has featured in only 16 minutes in the current season, playing slightly more in Champions League and Carabao Cup. A change of scenery could be in the cards for the talented Dutchman, but Juventus are not the frontrunners to sign him.

The Bianconeri could indeed shore up the midfield in January though, especially if Aaron Ramsey left as rumored. But they will have scarce resources to do it. They are no longer considering cashing in on Weston McKennie. The American has become an integral part of the squad in recent games.

On top of Axel Witsel, who figures to be the cheapest target, Juventus are also pursuing Denis Zakaria. The Borussia Moenchengladbach specialist has only a few months left on his contract. Given the situation, he could depart at a discount price. However, the Old Lady will have to battle with Roma and Manchester City, which are also keen on the Swiss international, Tuttosport reports.
