Di Maria did not rule out staying at Juventus next season (via Tuttomercatoweb).
“You never know. They have treated me very well, and that impacts how I feel. I am focused on this upcoming campaign. We will try to take home the Scudetto and other competitions, and then I will assess it. I like to be an assist-man. My best position is right-winger, but it will depend on the coach. The club has invested youngsters, and I am looking forward to helping some great ones like Dusan Vlahovic and Federico Chiesa.”
Di Maria revealed that Juventus insisted to convince him.
“They pursued me for 40 days, so it became hard to say no. They waited for me when Ligue 1 ended, and then when I had some matches with Argentina afterward. I delayed my answer just for some family-related reasons. I wanted to go on vacation before starting this new adventure. They targeted me with the most intensity. I have a special relationship with Gianluigi Buffon, but his comparison with Diego Armando Maradona was too much. I have talked especially with Paulo Dybala, who told me what turned out to be true, as this club really feels like a family.”
