Juventus vs Lazio 3-1: Dominant Bianconeri Win Over Biancocelesti

Check out our Juventus vs Lazio recap below! Juventus put in a fantastic performance on Saturday as they comfortably despatched Lazio with a 3-1 triumph at Allianz Stadium in the first Serie A match of Round 4.

Dusan Vlahovic starred in this one and deservedly put Juventus in front after firing the ball past Ivan Provedel after just ten minutes of play. Lazio started to slightly get back into the match but the Old Lady fired back soon after as Federico Chiesa put them two goals ahead.

The Bianconeri looked in complete control but an error at the back by Bremer allowed Lazio back in the match as Luis Alberto made it 2-1. Nonetheless, the hosts hit back just a few minutes later to restore their two-goal lead after some magnificent play between Weston McKennie and Vlahovic. Let’s get into our Juventus vs Lazio recap.

Juventus Shock Lazio Early On

Juventus looked to press a bit higher than usual here, applying pressure on Lazio ‘keeper Provedel from the off. Filip Kostic tested Provedel early on with a decent shot across goal but he was able to make the stop. It was that intensity by Massimiliano Allegri’s side that got them off to a flying start and would be the theme of the game.

It was the Bianconeri who opened the scoring after a well-worked goal coming from the right flank. McKennie had worked the ball nicely down the right flank before Manuel Locatelli put in a superb cross. Vlahovic made no mistake with the finish, showing great instincts with an excellent strike past Provedel.

The hosts continued to pile on the pressure after taking the lead and easily could have found a second shortly after. Mattia Zaccagni showed some nice flashes in the opening period for the visitors. On the whole, Lazio struggled to create but they did start to grow into the game. Daichi Kamada forced Wojciech Szczesny into tipping the ball over after fierce effort.

Chiesa Doubles Bianconeri Lead, Luis Alberto Pulls One Back

Despite Lazio growing into the game, Juve hit them when they weren’t expecting it. The home side broke well before Adrien Rabiot laid the ball off to Chiesa inside the box. Chiesa made no mistake with the finish, firing the ball home at the near post. Juventus looked in control and went in at the break two goals up.

The Bianconeri continued that form into the second half and Provedel was called into action once more to deny a Rabiot header. The second period was a similar story as the first.

However, an error at the back by Bremer allowed Lazio in on goal. Alberto made no mistake and curled the ball into the right-hand side. A needless error that allowed the Biancocelesti back into the game.

Vlahovic Restores Two-Goal Advantage

Nevertheless, Juve hit back soon after following some magnificent centre-forward play by Vlahovic. McKennie found the forward with a superb cross-field pass as he continued to impress. The Serbian took the ball down superbly before beautifully curling the ball into the bottom right corner.

The hosts saw out the win comfortably in the end and recorded a deserved victory here against Lazio. The Bianconeri look set to thrive with no European distractions this season, whilst Lazio need to improve after losing three out of their first four games. That was our Juventus vs Lazio recap as the Old Lady put in a stellar performance here, led by Vlahovic. Check out our Juventus player ratings here.
