On Sunday’s early kickoff, Juventus played hosts for Venezia at the Allianz Stadium in Turin. The home side took the lead following an early onslaught as Leonardo Bonucci nodded the ball home. However, Massimiliano Allegri’s men then left the initiative for the visitors. After several threats, Mattia Aramu eventually equalized the scoring with a fabulous strike, but the Bianconeri swiftly restored their lead thanks to Bonucci again. So here are our player ratings for the round 35 encounter between Juventus and Venezia which ended with a slight victory for the hosts.
Juventus (4-4-2)
Wojciech Szczesny – 6.5
The former Roma custodian was much busier than one would have expected in a match against a side lying at the very bottom of the table. Nonetheless, he was up to the task, pulling off some brilliant saves on Aramu, but the latter left him with no chance with a stunning goal.
Danilo – 6
Prior to the match, Allegri mentioned the Brazilian as one of the players who needed some rest. The right-back obviously wasn’t at his physical peak, but still put up a decent shift at the back. Could have scored a goal from point-blank range but his header went well wide.
Matthijs de Ligt – 7
A solid performance from the former Ajax captain who bossed his area and won the majority of his duels against Henry and company. Provided the assist for Bonucci’s opener with a header.
Leonardo Bonucci – 7.5
It’s not everyday that a center back leaves the pitch with a personal brace, but the veteran Italian managed to pull it off on his 35th birthday. His first goal came from a clinical header, while the second was all about grit and determination as he pounced on a goalmouth scramble. Also put a solid shift at the back.
Luca Pellegrini – 6.5
Aside from some nervous instances, the former Cagliari man looked energetic and inspiring on the left flank. Almost scored an early goal but his long-range shot crashed against the crossbar.
Federico Bernardeschi – 6
Not a bad display from the Euro 2020 winner who provided Danilo with a sublime cross, but perhaps he needs to do more in order to earn a new contract at Juventus.
Denis Zakaria – 5.5
The Swiss started well as his spectacular volley was the first real chance of the match, but his performance regressed after receiving a yellow card late in the first half.
Fabio Miretti – 7
The 18-year-old impressed everyone at the Allianz Stadium on his full debut. Orchestrated the play for Juventus with his elegant touch and vertical long ball. His brilliant dead-ball skills were behind the Bianconeri’s two goals.
Adrien Rabiot – 6.5
The Frenchman confirmed his improvement with another good performance. Retrieved the ball on countless occasions and sprinted to make a vital interception on a dangerous counter attack from Venezia. But he still needs to work on his technical skills.
Dusan Vlahovic – 5.5
Another underwhelming display from the Serbian bomber who appears to be short on fitness and sharpness. Took extra seconds before launching his shots.
Alvaro Morata – 6
The former Real Madrid man wasted some chances inside the box, but worked hard for the cause as he supported his teammates at the back and helped in bringing out the ball from his team’s areas.
Juventus Substitutes
Alex Sandro – 5.5
Although he didn’t do badly, the Old Lady’s dangerous left flank slowly died out following the Brazilian’s introduction.
Paulo Dybala – 5.5
The Argentine helped in holding the ball late in the match, but couldn’t create anything noteworthy throughout his cameo.
Moise Kean – 6
The former PSG man fought to maintain possession, but entered the match at a time when Juventus were no longer creating chances.
Giorgio Chiellini – N/A
Arthur Melo – N/A

Venezia (3-5-2)
Niki Maenpaa – 5.5
The Finnish veteran can be hardly blamed on either goal, and surprisingly had little to do for the remainder of the match.
Ethan Ampadu – 6.5
A solid performance from the young Chelsea loanee who worked extremely hard at the back and made some crucial clearances against the likes of Morata and Vlahovic.
Mattia Caldara – 6.5
Despite his team’s defeat, the former Juventus and Milan defender managed to come out on top in his personal duel against Vlahovic.
Pieto Cecccaroni – 6.5
Another strong performer at the back for the Arancioneroverdi. The Venezia captain led by example and tried to release his teammates with some long balls.
Ales Mateju – 6
The wingback didn’t always surge forward, but caused problems for Juventus with his dangerous crosses from the right flank.
Domen Cringoj – 5.5
The box-to-box midfielder put up a laborious shift for the visitors, but was rarely able to penetrate the defensive lines.
Antonio Junior Vacca – 6
The deep-lying playmaker was enjoying a fine outing before sustaining a facial injury due to a contract with Bernardeschi late in the first half. Spread the ball with ease in midfield.
Michael Cuisance – 5.5
The former Bayern Munich man had little impact in the first half and was nowhere to be seen after the halftime break.
Ridgeciano Haps – 5.5
The left wingback trotted up and down the flank, but was wasteful with his crossing and shooting. Received a booking for a frustrated challenge on Dybala.
Mattia Aramu – 7
After scoring against Juventus in the reverse fixture, the former Torino man finally managed to break his duck and find the back of the net against his favorite victims. He was the most dangerous player for the visitors, and almost scored on a couple of occasions before finally grabbing the equalizer with a splendid strike.
Thomas Henry – 6
The Frenchman almost equalized the scoring in the first half but his header whistled past the post. Proved to be a major threat in the air due to his strong physique, but Bonucci and de Ligt assisted one another to successfully contain him.
Venezia Substitutes
Luca Antonio Fiordilino – 6.5
The Regista replaced the injured Vacca and managed to keep things ticking in the middle of the park while also keeping Dybala in check in the second half. Initiated the play that resulted in Aramu’s goal.
Sofiane Kiyine – 6.5
The Moroccan’s introduction at halftime clearly improved Venezia in general, as he repeatedly made runs towards the Juventus box using his speed and dribbling skills.
Dor Peretz – 6
Provided the assist for Aramu’s equalizer as he brought the ball down with his chest
Maximilian Ullman – N/A
David Okereke – N/A
