Destiny Udogie is finishing the season strong, and he is quickly climbing the shortlist put together by Juventus for the left-back position. The Udinese prodigy has scored twice in a row against Fiorentina and Bologna. He is now up to four goals in 2021-2022.
The Bianconeri are keeping tabs on multiple options. They wish to offload Alex Sandro and his cumbersome salary, Calciomercato reports. They inquired about Renan Lodi, but it is improbable that Atletico Madrid will let him go if not for a sizeable offer. Emerson Palmieri could be a more viable target if Olympique Lyonnais did not buy him out following the loan spell.
Juventus might prefer bringing in a youngster to pair up with either Sandro or Luca Pellegrini, and Udogie and AZ Alkmaar’s Owen Wijndal would fit the bill. Udinese acquired the 19-year-old from Verona for €4M plus €1M add-ons last summer. He has logged 31 appearances in his first season as a regular in Serie A.
The two sides are already in touch for Nahuel Molina. The Zebrette are unlikely to sell both their starting wing-backs. Although, they have Brandon Soppy waiting in the wings. Plus, they have already signed Festy Ebosele on a free transfer from Derby County.
Udogie discussed the interest from Juventus and Napoli in a recent interview: “If prestigious clubs are after me, that means that I am faring well, and I am happy with that. I am flattered, but I am focusing on Udinese and not giving much thought to the transfer market.”
