Juventus Weigh Far-Fetched Trade Idea with Napoli

Juventus are trying to part ways with Federico Chiesa and are contemplating offering Napoli a swap with Giacomo Raspadori. The winger is unlikely to stay since he has just a year on his contract. The negotiation to extend it has gone nowhere so far.

According to TuttoSport (via Mediaset), Thiago Motta will evaluate him if he’s still at the club after his vacation but won’t put his foot down to keep him. He prefers more disciplined players who follow the game plan, while the former Fiorentina ace ad-libs too much to his liking.

Napoli and Roma have been pursuing Chiesa throughout the summer, and Juventus could dangle a trade with Raspadori if he were open to transferring to Campania. He’s reportedly waiting for an offer from abroad. Cristiano Giuntoli signed the youngster from Sassuolo for €32M in 2022, but he hasn’t had a starring role with the Partenopei.

The two players have similar valuations. The Old Lady could add some cash consideration, about €5M, to sweeten the pot. Among their many needs, they are seeking a deputy striker as they’d like to sell Arkadiusz Milik. The 24-year-old would be able to handle those duties on top of starring alongside Dusan Vlahovic.

Our Take on Juventus, Napoli, and the Chiesa and Raspadori swap

The latter would be a better fit for Thiago Motta’s schemes and would be a nice toy for the coach. He’ll continue having a limited role with the Azzurri unless they sell a pair of attackers and don’t replace them. The Bianconeri winger hasn’t been consistently superb last season, but his demands must be hefty if no team is tracking him aggressively.
