Juventus Weighing Up Summer Move for Man City Forward

Juventus have reportedly rekindled their interest in out-of-favour Manchester City forward Gabriel Jesus heading into the summer transfer window. As per TUTTOmercatoWEB, the Bianconeri are weighing up a €30m bid for the Brazilian star, who has found himself low in the pecking order at the Etihad.

Jesus joined Man City as a prodigy in 2017. Though he was meant to be Sergio Aguero’s long-term heir, the 24-year-old has failed to live up to expectations in the Premier League.

Despite Jesus’ decent overall performance, a lack of scoring prowess cast doubt on his future in Manchester. Far less prolific than Aguero, the ex-Palmeiras striker has struggled for regular first-team opportunities under Pep Guardiola.

This season, Jesus has tallied a mere six goals from 29 appearances in all competitions. Tired of the Brazilian’s lacklustre performances, the defending Premier League champions could be looking to cut him loose in the summer.

Meanwhile, Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri is an admirer of Jesus. The Italian manager considered signing the versatile forward last summer before realising Man City had slapped a €50m price tag on his head. But the situation could be different this time around.

After falling out of favour with Guardiola, Jesus is contemplating his future at Man City. He is desperate to convince Brazil’s head coach Tite to include him in the national team squad to travel to Qatar for winter’s World Cup finals.

With regular playing time at the Etihad hard to come by, Jesus could push for a move to Juventus. The Bianconeri will have to add at least one top-class forward at the end of the season as star player Paulo Dybala prepares to say goodbye to the Allianz Stadium.

Juventus would use strength in depth as they hope to fashion a genuine title bid in Serie A next season. Since they are ready to shape up a new era around talismanic striker Dusan Vlahovic, the Italians could use Jesus as support, given his technical abilities.
