Juventus Youngster to Be Given First-Team Opportunity

Andrea Cambiaso convinced the Juventus brass during the friendlies and has very strong chances to stay put unless a suitor comes over the top with a large offer.

His agent Giovanni Bia addressed his future in an interview with Tuttomercatoweb.

“The Bianconeri turned down multiple bids. I think he’ll be part of their squad. Surely, if a €25M proposal arrives, they will obviously consider selling him.”

He also said his piece about the rumored swap between Romelu Lukaku and Dusan Vlahovic.

“It would be a usual deal for Cristiano Giuntoli. I’m surprised. The Belgian isn’t coming off a great season. It might be a hijack.”

Juventus acquired Cambiaso for nearly €9M from Genoa last summer. They then loaned him out to Bologna for €2M. He has 58 Serie A appearances to his name. He has tallied one goal and seven assists so far.

The versatile wingback was a late bloomer and extensively cut his teeth in the lower leagues, starring for Albissola, Savona, Alessandria, and Empoli.

Our Take on Cambiaso and Juventus

His versatility is his biggest asset, as he’s ambidextrous even though he has mostly played on the left wing. Plus, he might have a future as a box-to-box. It would make little sense for the Bianconeri to spend for a backup, as Timothy Weah is good enough to be a full-time starter.
