Kaka Backs Milan to Win in ‘Balanced’ Derby della Madonnina

Milan legend Ricardo Kaka has reflected on the upcoming Derby di Milano clash, as his former side arrive into the match in appalling form. The Rossoneri are winless in six successive games, highlighting a major slip across the league and Coppa Italia, as they prepare for an important month in which they will also face Antonio Conte’s Tottenham Hotspur in the UEFA Champions League last 16.

Speaking to La Gazzetta dello Sport in an exclusive interview, the iconic trequartista gave his opinion on the high-profile clash.

“The many goals conceded in the last few games will weigh on Milan, but there’s always a derby to recover. We need to take advantage to restart afresh. I expect a balanced game. Milan have nothing less than Inter, despite the recent negative results.”

The Brazilian predicts the Rossoneri to get back to winning ways after a six-match drought.

“The evening is special and something special needs to be done. I expect a balanced match – Milan will win 2-1. A derby is ideal for recovering.”

Kaka also highlighted the two most important players from either team.

“Inter’s strengths? Lautaro. The title of world champion gives you a good dose of extra conviction. Milan’s strong points? I’m still saying Leao. Someone who can change any game.”

Milan have won their last two league derbies against Inter, and could win three in a row for the first time since between November 2002 and February 2004.
