Kalulu Finally Accepts to Transfer to Juventus on Loan

Pierre Kalulu took the weekend to think about leaving Milan and going to Juventus, but he eventually agreed to the move. The defender had reservations about the formula and the fact that he wouldn’t necessarily be a surefire starter in Turin.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the two teams will meet again on Tuesday to finalize the agreement and put pen to paper. They had found it quickly last week. The Bianconeri will pay €3M right away and €14M to buy out the player in 2025 if they wish to. The deal will include €3M add-ons and a 10 percent resale clause.

Kalulu will join Juventus from Milan with the same formula as Charles De Ketelaere’s transfer to Atalanta last summer. The defender wasn’t selected for the opener since the club had already made the call after signing Strahinja Pavlovic and Emerson Royal.

If everything goes according to plan, the youngster will take the medicals on Tuesday. He has featured in 112 matches in San Siro, tallying 3 goals and 3 assists. His last season was marred by injuries and the emergence of Malick Thiaw, which cost him the starting job.

Our Take on Juventus and Kalulu

It would have been a bad look if Juventus missed out on another defensive target. He has gone backward after a promising start at Milan, but the talent is there. He’s surely not as good as other options pursued by the Old Lady this summer, but it’ll plug a couple of holes and could potentially be a steal if he bounces back big time.
