Daichi Kamada has fallen out of favor at Lazio following a decent start, paying the price for the defensive imbalance of his team that forced Maurizio Sarri to turn to more physical players. He raised the problem to Sports Hochi (via Mediaset).
“I didn’t think I would play this little at Lazio. I don’t feel any particular kind of pressure for not scoring a lot. My role has changed, as I’m a bot-to-box now. Despite the tactical difficulties, I push myself to do the best I can.”
Kamada and Lazio agreed to a particular contract. He and the club need to pick up an option to extend it for three more years next summer.
“Everything has yet to be decided about it. My main goal is to play the World Cup, and we’ll find the best possible solution for my permanence along with the club.”

Kamada will miss about a month in early 2024 due to the AFC Asian Cup.
