Kessié Agent Denies Inter Links, Mum on Extension Talks with Milan

The negotiation with Franck Kessié continues to be the most talked-about topic in Milan circles. His agent George Atangana weighed in, complaining about the insistent chatter: “They are about to play the eighth Serie A game of the season, and there is all this media confusion around the matter. But I do not see this approach in similar situations elsewhere. There are players on expiring contracts at Inter, Marseille, Napoli, and so on. However, they are not treated with the same energy. I read that somebody is even in talks with the Rossoneri…”

The representative spoke to Calciomercato.com: “You always need a worthy contract for an important player,” he replied to the question about whether the fact that Kessié promised he would put pen-to-paper after the Olympics caused the buzz.

He did not go into details on the numbers. The site asked him if Milan really put on the table a €6.5M salary: “We have received an official offer from the club, and we made our request. But the figures we are talking about are very distant from those.”

Atangana vehemently denied the links to Inter: “A player of the caliber of Kessié does not need to be proposed to anybody. And in any case, I never talked with the Nerazzurri. The journalists have been saying the same erroneous things for a long time. I am sorry for those that read them and believe them to be truthful.”

The latest report from La Gazzetta dello Sport suggests that Milan are resigned to losing Kessié. PSG and Liverpool dueling to sign him for free next summer.
