Kessie Situation Uncertain, Premier League Clubs Keep Close Eye

Franck Kessie’s renewal with the Rossoneri is still pending as the Ivory Coast international demands a hike in wages and aims to become one of the club’s top earners alongside Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Milan are facing an uphill task in coming to terms with Kessie’s demands as the transfer window shuts lose within a week. The player’s agent has put forth a request of €7m net per season along with €1.5m in bonuses – that would amount to €70-75m gross over the course of the renewed deal.

Milan reportedly do not want to part ways with more than €6m in wages for him but it remains to be seen if they are ready to part ways with the midfielder himself who is extremely valued at the club.

The 24-year-old’s contract expires in less than a year in June 2022 and another Donnarumma-like situation dawns upon the Rossoneri.

A transfer request from Fabio Paratici and Tottenham Hotspur was recently rejected by Kessie, according to Calciomercato. Spurs are also said to be willing to give either Tanguy Ndombele or Moussa Sissoko to the Rossoneri for Kessie.

Liverpool and Arsenal are the other clubs keeping close eye on the situation.
