Kessie Unlikely to Renew with Milan, Not Short of Summer Suitors

The Milan faithful made their thoughts known during the clash against Sampdoria regarding Franck Kessie’s hesitancy to extend his contract with the Rossoneri by displaying a banner. The 25-year-old was was jeered during the match, before which the Curva Sud offered their piece of mind on soon-to-be free agents.

According to reports from La Repubblica (via MilanNews), a total of five clubs are interested in the services of the central midfielder who has grown to become one of Stefano Pioli’s first names on the team sheet.

Ivory Coast international has long been in a contractual war with the Rossoneri management, who have so far denied his demands for increased wages.

It looks highly unlikely that the former Atalanta man will renew his contract. With his departure from the club all but imminent – at the end of the season – Kessie is not short of suitors.

The black and blue half of the Milan divide – Inter – are interested in him, but will reportedly be unlikely to offer him the wages that he demands. The other names in contention for his free transfer next summer are Barcelona, Liverpool, Paris Saint-Germain and Newcastle United.

Of all the potential suitors, Barcelona seem to be frontrunners at the moment and the Ivorian himself is said to be a fan of the Blaugrana. The Camp Nou outfit already have undivided attention on Kessie, having kept tabs on him for long given his stature as a midfield powerhouse.

Premier League giants Liverpool and Newcastle United are also closely monitoring his situation, as are French giants PSG.
