Kim Min-Jae Transfer to Bayern Munich Finally Imminent

Kim Min-Jae was supposed to leave Napoli to join Bayern Munich by July 15th, but it didn’t happen. However, the deal isn’t in any peril because the Bavarians have already activated his release clause. The parties needed more time to handle secondary aspects like the payment structure, bonuses, and commissions for his agents, Goal reports.

The CEO of the Bundesliga giants Jan-Christian Dreesen weighed in.

“He’s an exceptional player. We want him to join but can’t announce it just yet. We hope to be able to do so in the next few days.”

Bayern Munich coach Thomas Tuchel had some remarks along the same line, even though he didn’t mention Kim directly.

“We want to substitute Lucas Hernandez in the best possible way. The name of his replacement isn’t a secret, but it’s better not to spell it.”

Napoli manager Rudi Garcia spoke about the Korean in an interview with Sky.

“Succeeding Kim isn’t easy but we already have three very competitive defenders that are ready to play at high levels. Then, we’ll evaluate whom to sign in the transfer market. We shouldn’t forget that Kalidou Koulibaly seemed irreplaceable at the time. Whoever joins will surely be up to the task.”

The ex-Fenerbahce center-back bid farewell to Napoli with a heartfelt Instagram post, as the announcement will come soon.

UPDATE: Bayern Munich issued their official statement on the acquisition Tuesday afternoon.
