Bart Baving, the agent of Teun Koopmeiners, took stock of a busy summer for his client and looked ahead at the next windows, adding that they are in touch with Atalanta concerning an extension. His current deal expires in 2025. The representative was quizzed about Juventus and Napoli’s interest by TVPlay (via Calciomercato).
“Teams will always track players like him. It was paramount for him to stay focused on his club, and that’s exactly what he did. He’s happy at Atalanta. He’s honored for the chatter, but he stayed calm. We’re negotiating a renewal.”
Napoli put forth a bid for Koopmeiners.
“Atalanta didn’t receive a formal proposal from Juventus, while the Azzurri lodged one. The brass made it clear that he wasn’t for sale. We don’t know what will happen in the future. The Partenopei can be an interesting option considering they had a good season in Italy and in Europe in 2022/2023.”
The maestro won’t leave in January.
“La Dea wouldn’t sell him even for €60M. We know and accept it. We’ll see next year.”
Koopmeiners was joined by new compatriots in Italy after the past window.
“I’m glad to see that a few Dutchmen came to Italy. Tijjani Reijnders is doing very well. It’s a good market from a tactical standpoint. They bring their skills, and they generally pan out. It’s a sound mix.”
