La Liga Forward Flattered by Milan Interest

Atletico Madrid striker Alvaro Morata is reportedly flattered by a concrete interest from Serie A heavyweights Milan. As per Gianluca Di Marzio, the Italians consider the experienced center-forward a reliable option to replace the departed veteran Olivier Giroud.

Morata is no stranger to Serie A. He had two separate stints at Juventus. As ever, he’s a person of interest to Italian clubs. In addition to Milan, Roma and Juventus continue to keep close tabs on the 31-year-old. But the Rossoneri are at the head of the queue.

Amid the club’s stuttering attempt to sign Bologna’s Joshua Zirkzee, Milan remain attentive to other opportunities in the market. Morata could be a valuable addition. Yet, he’s currently at Euro 2024. Therefore, all talks surrounding his future would have to wait until the end of the tournament.

If their effort to agree on Zirkzee’s arrival, Milan may switch their attention to Morata. The Spaniard recently posted on Instagram that he’s determined to stay at Atletico Madrid. However, reputable sources report it was a shred plan to fend off interest from the Saudi Pro League.

Morata’s affordable €13 million release clause is another reason Milan contemplate approaching Los Rojiblancos for his signature. Strapped for cash, the San Siro outfit must carefully calculate every move this summer. But if the player is keen to join them, the Rossoneri will hardly stay immune to this prospect.

On the other hand, Milan are tightening the noose on Tottenham Hotspur full-back Emerson Royal.
