Lautaro Agent Pumps the Brakes About His Extension

Inter CEO Giuseppe Marotta has often displayed supreme confidence about the renewal of Lautaro Martinez, but things aren’t so advanced, his agent Alejandro Camano stated in an interview with TeleLombardia (via Eurosport).

“We’re working on an agreement to make him and the club happy. We’re serene. He has two more years on his deal. It doesn’t hinge only on the mutual love between the player and the club. He’s a professional, and we must operate correctly.”

Camano skirted a question about the wages being a sticking point.

“I don’t have to speak on it, but the fans must know that Lautaro is comfortable at Inter, as you can see in every game. He’s one of the top three center-forwards in the world. A foreign team would offer a lot. He’s here because he likes it.”

“I’m working to reach an agreement to allow him to do his job to the best of his capabilities. He’s the captain, and that’s very gratifying. He’s not thinking about anything else. What matters is coming to an understanding that mirrors his value. The truth is that we haven’t yet. We’re negotiating.”

Camano stated that Lautaro isn’t a threat to leave Inter.

“The whole world calls me every day, but he doesn’t listen to any proposal because he’s focused on his team. I can’t add anything else. The Nerazzurri are one of the most important sides in the world and have done an incredible job in the last few years.”
