Lautaro Martinez has been officially chosen as the new Inter captain. He discussed the topic and more in an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport.
“Wearing the armband means taking on more responsibility inside the locker room. I was already doing that in the past. My goal is to help the teammates that need it.”
The Argentine didn’t mince words about Romelu Lukaku.
“He left me disappointed. I tried to call him too during those chaotic days, but he didn’t answer. The same thing happened to my teammates despite all these years together. It’s his choice. I wish him the best. I didn’t expect his behavior.”
Lautaro Martinez rebuffed rich offers from Saudi Arabia.
“It’s true, they came in, but I’m happy at Inter and in Milan. I have no reason to move. My family is on the same page. The economic aspect can get in your head. It’d be pointless to deny it since we are talking about a lot of money. Then, it depends on the single player. In my case, I made this choice to stay at high levels. I’m already thinking about preparing for the next Copa America or World Cup.”
