Lautaro Martinez Agent Fuels Barcelona and Other Suitors’ Hopes

Lautaro Martinez openly stated that he plans to stay at Inter, but the situation could always change until he signs a new deal. His new agent Alejandro Camano announced in an interview that they would not put pen-to-paper soon.

He spoke to Spanish newspaper Sport: “Who would not like to play for Barcelona? They are one of the biggest clubs in the world. We are very serene; we have to solve his situation with Inter first. Nobody from the Blaugrana reached out to me. I have a good relationship with director of football Mateo Alemany, but nothing is going on yet. We are not focusing on it right now. The player is ready for any challenge.”

Martinez admitted that he was close to the Catalans a year ago: “I do not know what happened, I spoke with his previous representative, but it was very confusing. We want to understand Inter plans now and listen to the bids that are arriving.”

On the possible sum to acquire him: “€90M are excessive. Everybody has a price, but the Nerazzurri are not considering selling him right now. We will see what his club will do as the transfer market progresses. We were offered a new contract, but we answered that we are fine with where we are at right now.”

Barcelona would not be the only suitors if the Argentinian striker were allowed to leave. Atletico Madrid and Chelsea would also be very interested. The Blues asked for information during the recent talks for Achraf Hakimi, Tuttomercatoweb reports.
