Lautaro Martinez Eyes UCL Glory After Balloon D’Or Snub

Lautaro Martinez has set his sights on some glitzy team objectives after finishing lower than expected in the Balloon d’Or voting despite a terrific season with Inter and Argentina in 2023/2024. He gave an interview to Icon Magazine. He was publicly endorsed by Lionel Messi for the prestigious award.

“It’s an honor for me that the greatest player of all time thinks that. I was happy to be a candidate. I think it’s recognition for a great campaign with the national team, with which we won the Coppa America, and the club, as we took home the 20th Scudetto and the Supercoppa. And personally as well, since I was the best scorer in both competitions and the Serie A MVP.”

Lautaro Martinez examined his stay in Italy.

“I’ve matured as a man and a player at the same time. I was a 20-year-old kid when I came here, while I’m a father and a husband now. That has allowed me to grow as a footballer too. I’m very proud to be Inter’s captain. The two goals I carry in my heart are the ones in the recent final with the Seleccion and in the Derby with Milan in the Champions League semifinal in 2022/2023.”

Lautaro Martinez indicated his objectives.

“I always say that the cabinet trophy is never too full, and you can always find room for more cups. It’s also true that I had the fortune of winning with Argentina and the Nerazzurri, but you need to aim at your next success all the time. Surely lifting the Champions League as a captain would be a nice cherry on top.”
