Lazio Approach David Luiz after Failed Kostic Deal

Torino, Italy. 06th January 2020. Italian Serie A. Juventus Fc vs Cagliari Calcio. Maurizio Sarri , head coach of Juventus FC,

Maurizio Sarri is reportedly keen on uniting with one of his former players David Luiz at Lazio. The duo worked together during their time at Chelsea before the Italian manager moved back to Serie A with Juventus.

According to Italian transfer market expert and journalist Alfredo Pedulla, the ex-Arsenal defender has already been contacted by the Lazio management. The club failed to seal Filip Kostic’s arrival from Eintracht Frankfurt on deadline day – as the clubs pointed fingers at one another for the breakdown of negotiations.

Luiz is currently a free agent after Arsenal released the player at the end of last season. He already has three offers – one from Brazilian club Flamengo and one from Benfica.

The Biancocelesti are said to be in advanced talks with him and his entourage for a potential deal and have already made the first offer.

The 34-year-old is keen on continuing his career in Europe and Sarri’s presence in the dugout might prove to be instrumental to Luiz arriving in the Italian capital.
