Lazio Attempt to Add Eintracht Frankfurt Star Still On

Despite Sevilla running interference, Lazio might still sign Djibril Sow, as the exchange of documents with Eintracht Frankfurt has reprised following an interruption. Maurizio Sarri was part of the impasse, as he wasn’t initially informed of the acquisition, Corriere dello Sport relays.

The gaffer prefers different options to replace Sergej Milinkovic-Savic. However, president Claudio Lotito reassured him he wouldn’t be the only newcomer. The manager eventually signed off on the deal and also had a phone call with the player to explain what occurred and clear the air.

Sow asked for some time to mull the transfer after what transpired with Lazio. The coach and the chairman aren’t on the best of terms. The former has four priority targets in mind to bolster the squad: Piotr Zielinski, Samuele Ricci, Domenico Berardi, and Luca Pellegrini.

Instead, the patron prefers other options chiefly for financial reasons. Moreover, Sarri believed he would have been more involved in the transfer market after the ousting of Igli Tare. That’s not the case, and he often learns about the moves when they are already in advanced stages. The brass remains unwilling to splurge despite the return to the Champions League and the sale of their star.

If Sow agrees, he’ll join Lazio in a €12M move. The Biancocelesti were in the process of booking the medicals before the tactician said his piece.
