Lazio Challenging Milan in Pursuit of Atalanta Disgruntled Star

Lazio are operating slowly in the summer window as they need to sell Joaquin Correa to finance some purchases. The Argentinian forward is drawing interest especially from Premier League sides. The right offer has not arrived yet, though. Afterward, the Biancocelesti will move swiftly to add at least one more attacker.

The acquisition of Filip Kostic is strictly related to the departure of Correa. Eintracht Frankfurt are asking for €20M, and Lazio can not spend that much right now. Moreover, if Correa stayed, he would play as left winger. So it would no longer be necessary to find another player in the same position, Radiosei reports.

Lazio are keeping tabs also on Josip Ilicic, who could arrive regardless. Maurizio Sarri is a big admirer of the Slovenian veteran, who is highly likely to leave Atalanta this summer. Despite that, the Bergamaschi have slapped a €7/8M price tag on him. It would be a sizeable investment for a 33-year-old considering that his wages would be above €2M annually.

The coach believes Ilicic would be a quality addition as he could feature in multiple positions. Lazio will stay on the prowl, hoping that his evaluation drops near the end of the window. Milan are doing the same while they seek for somebody to fill their hole at no.10. According to Gianluca Di Marzio, the Rossoneri have already come to personal terms and will use it as leverage with the Goddess. Gian Piero Gasperini has announced that the inventive forward has asked out.
