Lazio Chief Updates to Deal with Manchester United

Lazio president Claudio Lotito is giddy for a fast start in the transfer market and anticipates more arrivals after Loum Tchaouna, Tijjani Noslin, and Fisayo Dele-Bashiro. He spoke to Il Messaggero (via SOSFanta)

“We’re in mid-July and have done the most out of any club. I’ve spent €50M for five players because Nuno Tavares is coming too. We beat plenty of competition to capture him from Arsenal. He has impressive physical skills.”

Lotito disclosed the Lazio offer for Mason Greenwood.

“We tendered €25M for plus 50 percent of a future sale plus bonuses and add-ons. However, other teams are interfering with us. Initially Juventus, then also Napoli. It looks like everybody is terrified with us signing him and want to make the deal collapse. I have another youngster on my radar, whom I’m keeping under wraps.”

Lotito dished on Ciro Immobile leaving Lazio and the future of Taty Castellanos.

“He asked us to be sold, as Sergej Milinkovic-Savic and Luis Alberto did. They realized their cycles were over, and we need to accept that. Despite the affection, the club understood it was time to restart with a new and young project. We aren’t downsizing, though.”

“They offered us a lot for Taty, but we don’t want to sell him because we believe in him. We think he could finally get going and show us his true worth without the burden of having to compete with somebody who wrote the history of this team. Pedro? I don’t kick anybody out, and he’s not slowing down.”
