Lazio Close in on Bordeaux Midfielder after Pedro Deal

Pedro’s historic move from Derby della Capitale rivals Roma has put the Biancocelesti in a better position than before going into the 2021/22 season.

Having signed the ex-Chelsea and Barcelona ace, Lazio are eyeing Bordeaux midfielder Toma Basic to reinforce the central midfield area, according to Quotidiano Nazionale.

A move for the Croatian midfielder has already been materialized by Lazio in the range of €10m, that includes a €7m transfer fee and €3m in bonuses. The Luge 1 club are however expecting Lazio to make a slightly better offer by adding €1m.

Lazio are better financially placed after clearing their liquidation ratio and will look to make one or two more signings before the transfer window comes to a close.

Basic is a versatile midfielder capable of donning different roles in the central midfield area and also on the wings. He can also play an attacking role in the final third.

The contract offered by the Romans is said to be worth €1.5m per season – in a five-year deal.
