Lazio’s new offensive for midfield starlet Samuele Ricci has been shunned down by Torino, just days after Maurizio Sarri made his thoughts known to the Biancocelesti management regarding the sluggish transfer window. While the turning down will come as a surprise, given Lazio’s offer of €20M plus bonuses, the capital club is expected to increase the proposal.
As per Tuttosport (via Tuttomercatoweb), Lazio are putting enough pressure for Torino to succumb to the deal, with the next bid expected to reach the €25M mark.

The Biancocelesti are searching for a midfield ace to replace Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, who left for Saudi giants Al-Hilal for €42M last month. Despite the boost in finances, Lazio’s inability to source a direct substitute has been the subject of great tension between Sarri, to-be sporting director Angelo Fabiani and chief Claudio Lotito.
The news of Ricci being denied the move arrives just moments after reports confirmed Lazio’s stance on onboarding two targets, Daichi Kamada and Gustav Isaksen. The Japanese is already in town for the medicals and to sign, Radiosei informs.
Meanwhile, Torino are amidst other negotiations, as they are in talks to bring back Nikola Vlasic from West Ham and to sell Karol Linetty to Cagliari.
Our Take on Ricci to Lazio
Since lodging their initial proposal to acquire Ricci from Torino, Lazio seemed to have locked on the Empoli youth product as their main transfer target. Expectedly, they would increase their bid. A deal is likely to be struck for Ricci by next week.
