Lazio Eye Inter-Owned Sassuolo Star as Immobile Back Up

With Maurizio Sarri professing his love for Lazio and etching himself to the club for the near future, the manager will undoubtedly be asking club chief Claudio Lotito for reinforcements come summer. One of the Bianocelesti’s main targets is strengthening their forward line, which means bringing in a well-versed striker to deputize Ciro Immobile.

As per La Gazzetta dello Sport (via LazioNews24), Sassuolo loanee Andrea Pinamonti is a favorite to arrive at the Stadio Olimpico in the summer transfer market. The Neroverdi have an obligation to buy the forward from Inter for a reported fee of €20M, which will see him stay put until 2027.

Only a Lazio offer pitching, perhaps €5M more than what they will pay Inter, will draw the attention of Neroverdi chief Giovanni Carnevale. Moreover, the capital club are expected to offer a hike in salary – considerably more than the €2M net per season Pinamonti will bag in Reggio Emilia.

The Nerazzurri-owned striker has been a journeyman so far, spending his last four seasons on loan in four different clubs – Frosinone, Genoa, Empoli, and now Sassuolo.

Hampered by injuries and fitness issues, Immobile has proved significantly less prolific for Lazio this season despite the club being enroute to securing a Champions League spot – an impressive second-placed finish behind leaders Napoli.
