Lazio Might Soon Be Forced to Pick Between Sarri and Tare

Maurizio Sarri is less than pleased with how Lazio director Igli Tare operated in the transfer market. Their partnership might not last long. The coach was expecting more reinforcements in January, and he has snubbed the newcomers.

Jovane Cabral has seen the pitch only when there were no other options. Instead, Dimitrije Kamenovic, who has been in Rome since last summer, has barely been part of the match-day squad lists so far, even though they do not have many pure left-backs.

Sarri and Tare do not see eye-to-eye on how to strengthen the Lazio roster, as the gaffer had requested different pieces. They are both under contract for 2022-2023, but a shake-up could be in order, Alfredo PedullĂ  informs. The manager currently plans to continue with the Biancocelesti. However, he might make a different choice if he does not receive enough reassurances from president Claudio Lotito.

The chairman had announced during the team’s Christmas dinner that the boss would soon extend his deal. However, the parties have yet to put pen-to-paper, given the doubts that arose in the last couple of months. According to the transfer market expert, there is very little communication between Sarri and Tare, and their visions for the future of Lazio diverge.

The director has been linked to Juventus and some German clubs in the recent past. The coach is unlikely to start the next campaign as a lame duck. Lotito will have to mediate between the two or eventually pick a side if he can not reconcile their positions.
