Lazio Offer Iconic Immobile Executive Role Post-Retirement

Capocannoniere winner Ciro Immobile has been a force to reckon with ever since his Lazio move back in 2016/17, winning his fourth Serie A striker of the season award with 27 goals in 2021/22. Having already earned the status of a legend during such a short time with the Biancocelesti, the Azzurri marksman is already being prepped for a future in management at the club.

Il Messaggero (via La Lazio Siamo Noi) relays information of Immobile being conveyed of his importance to the club by president Claudio Lotito by offering him the role of an executive despite the striker possessing four more years until the end of his contract.

His agent Alessandro Moggi also recently confirmed of the attacker’s will of staying put at the club, thanks to the ‘deep attachment’ between the parties.

“He will remain at Lazio until the end of his career. It is a definitive sign of deep attachment. The club made a very important gesture by binding Ciro until 2026. We are talking about the strongest striker in Italy in the last few years.”

Lazio value Immobile extremely highly, due to which Lotito has offered an unspecified role in the future. He will be 36 years old in 2026, when his contract expires, which is when he could hang up his boots and head to the backroom to take care of executive proceedings. The former Sevilla and Dortmund striker has 182 goals in 259 appearances for the Biancocelesti.
