Lazio exec Angelo Fabiani didn’t play coy in his unveiling as the new sporting director, tackling several players on their radar (via Il Messaggero).
“Our main concern was the mental element while making addition. We don’t want troublemakers in a locker room that achieved something extraordinary last season. They are all professionals that fit in right away. The group is mostly intact other than Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.”
Fabiani confirmed that the deputy goalie saga is over and was quizzed about Hugo Lloris and Matteo Guendouzi.
“We sealed the deal for Luigi Sepe. There are two types of acquisitions: those you try to complete at all costs, and others that you leave open to obtain different results. We’re satisfied with signing an experienced shot-shopper. We have no regrets about who didn’t join. Nobody said ‘no’ to Lazio. As for the midfielder, we’re pondering. If there are some exits, we might acquire him or another player. We are complete numerically. We already have a larger squad than last season.”

Fabiani dished on Domenico Berardi and Piotr Zielinski.
“Our coach indicated them. However, we moved on to our fallback options, not in terms of skills or importance. We wished to lower our average age. We evaluated them. Though, it wasn’t certain their teams would sell them. We made an offer to Napoli. Adding Leonardo Bonucci is a fascinating idea. We’ll see.”
