Lazio Open Talks to Sign Galatasaray-Linked PSG Outcast

Lazio have laid eyes on Leandro Paredes to replenish their midfield following the departure of Sergej Milinkovic-Savic. He’s back at PSG after an underwhelming season-long loan spell at Juventus. The Biancocelesti also continue to track Samuele Ricci, Sky informs.

The capital side has contacted the Ligue 1’s giants and the player. His wages are sizeable, but he has only a year on his contract. Galatasaray are after him too, but he hasn’t okayed such a destination for now, Relevo informs.

Lazio had been looking for a deep-lying playmaker long before the departure of their star and, on top of Paredes, they are after Lucas Torreira. If the Argentine moved to Turkey, it could help them land the ex-Fiorentina star.

The veteran spent a season at Empoli in the past, but he didn’t cross paths with Maurizio Sarri, who had already joined Napoli at that point.

Our Take on Lazio and Paredes

He’d probably fare better than at Juventus with a better support system and less tactical confusion, but it’s more advisable to target younger players with upside. Nicolò Rovella was probably a viable target only in exchange for Milinkovic-Savic. For instance, Maxime Lopez could be easy to lure since he voiced his desire for a new challenge, and Sassuolo just signed a fairly similar player in Daniel Boloca.
