Lazio Place Napoli Winger in List of Serie A Targets

Lazio will add a winger in the summer and, on top of Domenico Berardi, Matteo Politano is also among the options, should Napoli be open to partying ways with him. His contract is up in 2025, and he has a €15M valuation, Alfredo Pedullà informs.

On the other hand, Hirving Lozano is more likely to depart since his deal expires a year earlier. The Azzurri might not want to purchase two players in the same role. As for the Sassuolo ace, the Bianconcelesti are keen, but the negotiation between the two clubs has just started. The capital side also likes Andrea Pinamonti.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Berardi accepted the destination, and Lazio will concretely begin bargaining with Sassuolo. He was offered a four-year contract with €3.5M wages including add-ons. The brass has determined a €25M budget for the deal. It remains to be seen whether it will be enough to entice the Neroverdi, which have always been reluctant to sell their star.

The counterparty appreciates Matteo Cancellieri, but he’s unlikely to be part of the package. The capital side is also mulling a swap with Salernitana regarding the youngster and Federico Bonazzoli, Il Mattino informs.

Our Take on Lazio, Berardi, and Politano

The Biancocelesti have had great success signing already-established players, but this would be an unusually large investment given their standards. He has green-lit his departure in the past already, but it never went through. The Napoli attacker or somebody like Riccardo Orsolini would be okay and less expensive fallbacks.
