Lazio have had a decent transfer window, bringing in the likes of Felipe Andersen, Elseid Hysaj and young Argentine-Spanish 16-year-old prodigy Luka Romero. The Biancocelesti have been linked to another centre-half in the hopes of bolstering their midfield prowess, Arsenal’s Lucas Torreira.
The 25-year-old midfielder has been linked with a move away from the Emirates Stadium after not being involved as part of Mikel Arteta’s 2021/22 season plans. However, Lazio have been dealt with a blow as Torreira has been offered to blood-rivals Roma – according to reports from La Gazzetta dello Sport (via LazioNews24).
The former Sampdoria central midfielder will reportedly be accommodated at both Lazio and Roma, only if either of the clubs make a sale first. The Biancocelesti’s Gonzalo Escalante has been linked with a move away from the side in recent weeks, with Olympique de Marseille probing.
Roma on the other hand, have witnessed their negotiations for Swiss midfielder Granit Xhaka break down with Arsenal, due to different club priorities taking precedence.
Lazio will begin their Serie A against Empoli at the Stadio Carlo Castellani on August 22.
