Lazio Player Ratings vs Fiorentina: Immobile is Man of the Moment.

Lazio hosted Fiorentina in the capital this evening, hoping to bounce back from their mid-week defeat to Feyenoord in the Champions League. Maurizio Sarri named a team with four changes from that game. One of which meant Talisman Ciro Immobile started from the bench. The striker was brought on for the final 15 minutes and his presence proved decisive for the Biancocelesti. Here’s how the Lazio players rated this evening as Immobile is man of the moment.

Ivan Provedel – 6

Solid when called upon but this was rare enough this evening even with the amount of Posession the opposition had. Another heart in mouth moment at the edge of his area in the 87th minute when he ended up with the ball at his feet. Drew a foul to spare his blushes

Adam Marusic – 5.5

A quiet enough evening for the Montenegrin. Managed to match Ikone for most of the evening. Only one mistake in the first half. His keeper gave him a dig out.

Alessio Romagnoli – 6

Was lucky Lucas Beltran handled the ball in the build-up to his goal. Should’ve put in a proper challenge. Otherwise he kept the attackers under control. Well played.

Patric –  6

Same thing as Romagnoli for Beltran’s disallowed goal. Replaced Casale without any drop in quality or continuity.

Manuel Lazzari – 6.5

Was the out-ball for much of the game and created a good few counter-attacks. Defensively he managed well against Gonzalez in particular. Slid in on occasion with accuracy.

Nicolo Rovella – 5

Rovella didn’t make as big an impact as usual. Mixed the bad with good. Silly moment in first half injury time when he played too much in his own box. Got booked for a heated discussion with Jonathan Ikone. More determined in the second half before being subbed off.

Matteo Guendouzi – 6

Saw a lot of the ball throughout the first half. Very positive play overall, emerging on the right wing often. Caught out once or twice but his contribution was valuable.

Luis Alberto – 6

High amount of stray passes especially when accuracy was needed most. Many things just didn’t come off for him, including his shot from close range in the first half. Not his best performance by any stretch of the imagination. You can see how important his creativity is when it is absent.

Mattia Zaccagni – 5

Very few opportunities on his wing and when they did come his way he couldn’t capitalise. Not much to write home about at all this evening.

Taty Castellanos – 6

Kept competing for every ball and challenging but he had to be more clinical. On at least three ocassions he should have given his side the lead but could never manage to find the target with his shots. Spotted gaps in the defence and never gave up though.

Felipe Anderson – 6.5

Anderson was probably the Aquile’s most influential player in the attacking third but he couldn’t provide his teammates with concrete chances. As with Castellanos he had to be ruthless infront of goal especially when Kamada played him through.

Substitutes:

Danilo Cataldi – 5.5

Cataldi was anonymous for a lot of his appearence but almost slipped up in the final minutes. Lopez couldn’t take advantage. Nothing special to contribute otherwise.

Matias Vecino – 6

One of Sarri’s favourites proved to play a major role yet again. After firing a shot just wide he won the penalty in the 94th minute by heading goalwards. Nikola Milenkovic’s hand was in the way. Decisive.

Daichi Kamada –  6

Full of good ideas and energy off the bench. Set Anderdon on his way with a beautiful pass after winning the ball back himself. All round good performance in the middle. Challenged and created.

Ciro Immobile – 7

Normally such a short cameo wouldn’t give much to write about but Immobile used his time wisely. Showed a proper captain’s role to fire home the penalty with ease when his team needed him most. His teammates were almost happier then him to see him back on the score sheet. Somehow you just knew it was going in. Will be a happy man this evening.
