Lazio Player Ratings vs Juventus: Milinkovic-Savic Disappoints in Turin

On the final Serie A round before the lengthy winter break, the two clubs with the best defensive records in the league collided at the Allianz Stadium. Nonetheless, Lazio’s backline leaked goals in Turin, as Juventus pummeled them with three unanswered strikes. Moise Kean provided the first two, while Arkadiusz Milik put the match to bed with a third goal. So here our player ratings for Lazio who fell down to the fourth place following their 0-3 defeat at the hands of Juventus.

Lazio (4-3-3)

Ivan Provedel – 5.5

The former Spezia custodian started his evening on a high note, making some decent saves on Fagioli and Milik. However, he put himself in a hapless position with his ill-advised exit which allowed Kean to lob the ball over his head. Tried to prevent the second goal but to no avail.

Elseid Hysaj – 5

The former Napoli fullback expectedly struggled to contain Filip Kostic, while hardly making himself useful on the attacking phase.

Nicolò Casale – 5.5

The defender lost his race against Kean ahead of the first goal. He made some decent clearances, but the highlights won’t do him any favors.

Alessio Romagnoli – 5.5

Reminiscently to his defensive partner, the former Milan captain has his moments, but lost his head on crucial instances. Inexplicably chased the ball while leaving Milik unmarked on the third Juventus goal.

Adam Marusic – 6

An unspectacular display from the Montenegrin, but to his credit, he managed to limit Juan Cuadrado’s threat from the right wing.

Sergej Milinkovic-Savic – 5.5

The Old Lady’s interest in the Serbian is one of the worst kept secrets in Serie A, but he didn’t exactly impress his suitors this time around. Cheaply gave the ball away to Adrien Rabiot which led to Juve’s opener. His display never picked up afterwards.

Danilo Cataldi – 5.5

The Lazio skipper fought hard in the middle of the park, but similarly to Milinkovic-Savic, he was dispossessed which directly led to another Juventus goal.

Toma Basic – 5

The Croatian had a forgettable outing. Although he’s energetic, his performances don’t quite justify his selection over Luis Alberto.

Luka Romero – 5.5

The 17-year-old was full of enthusiasm and tried to beat his marker on some occasions. But he faded out of the match as the minutes progressed.

Felipe Anderson – 6

In the absence of Ciro Immobile, the Brazilian is operating as a makeshift striker. But he was always going to struggle against Gleison Bremer and company. Though he managed to test Szczesny with a lovely strike late in the match.

Pedro Rodriguez – 6.5

The former Barcelona man was perhaps the lone bright spark for Lazio, looking like the only one who could forge up a decent play. Caused a yellow card for Bremer, made some dangerous runs on the flank and delivered splendid crosses that never found a genuine striker.
