Lazio Player Ratings vs Torino: Vecino and Zaccagni Deliver Victory

Lazio took on Torino at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome tonight in this midweek clash. Matias Vecino and Mattia Zaccagni both got their names on the scoresheet to claim three much needed points. Here’s the best and worst of tonight for the Biancoceleste:

Ivan Provedel – 6

Quiet night for Lazio’s ‘keeper. let one early shot bounce off his chest but hardly touched the ball again. not any important saves to make.

Adam Marusic – 5.5

Marusic didn’t have much space to work with out wide and concentrated on his defensive duties. Tameze got the better of him once or twice but there wasn’t a real threat for the montenagrin to deal with.

Nicolo Casale – 6

Casale really didn’t have much to do. Himself and Romagnoli both kept an eye on Duvan Zapata but once he went off any threat dissipated. Solid performance

Alessio Romagnoli – 6

Apart from battling with Zapata on a few occasion in the first half he stayed attentive throughout to keep the cleansheet intact and didn’t let much get past him.

Manuel Lazzari – 6.5

Lazzari did very well to get his assist for Vecino’s goal. Really nice build up with Anderson and the simple pass and move was really effective. Tried to improve his defensive side as well.

Nicolo Rovella – 5.5

Brought something different to the midfield and settled well but The Torino midfield mad it very hard for him to show his abilities.

Matias Vecino – 7

The physicality of Torino suited Vecino and he saw a lot of the ball.  Joined the attack on a few occasions. This led to his goal. He did well to beat the defender to the ball and finish with the right foot. After the goal things became easier.

Luis Alberto – 6.5

Alberto led as usual but sometimes seemed to be drowned out of the midfield scuffle. Tried to control things and on the occasions it came off it helped release his teammates  Clinical evening.

Felipe Anderson – 7.5

Anderson looked much more rested and refreshed and set Lazzari up with a beautiful chip to start the action for the first goal. Then with a delicate touch of the outside of his boot he sent Mattia Zaccagni through on goal.

Ciro Immobile – 6

Immobile gave an honest performance this evening even if he struggled to hold up the ball on occasion and was eventually subbed off after persevering for 75 minutes. Got a standing ovation on the way off.

Mattia Zaccagni – 7

Took his goal really coolly and with confidence. In the crowded Torino area he slotted past the Goalie. shifted across to Anderson’s wing and tracked back to help Adam Marusic.

Substitutions:

Matteo Guendouzi – 6

Was brought in to strengthen the midfield and that he did. Won challenges and ended up in quite a painful one when stood on. Saw the game out

Taty Castellanos – 6.5

Castellanos gave an alternative to Immobile and even attempted a bicycle kick. Saw out time in the corner and got the crowd excited.

Elseid Hysaj – N/A

Gustav Isaksen – N/A
