Lazio President ‘Promises’ Sarri Signings, Raid on Former Club Chelsea

Lazio trainer Maurizio Sarri has big plans for the club’s roster in the upcoming transfer windows, as he plans to raid former club Chelsea after making his intentions known to president Claudio Lotito and sporting director Igli Tare.

According to reports from Corriere della Sera, Sarri is intent on bringing in players for two positions – a left wing-back and a striker to give Ciro Immobile company, where the club has already been linked with three names for the latter role.

Regarding this matter, Lotito has given his full backing to the former Chelsea and Napoli tactician.

For the former position, versatile Chelsea midfielder Callum Hudson-Odoi has become a January transfer priority. He has fallen out of favour under Thomas Tuchel, falling behind Timo Werner, Romelu Lukaku and Christian Pulisic for game time. Another prospect is Paris Saint-Germain outcast Laywin Kurzawa, who has disappeared from the playing radar under Pochettino (via Football-Italia).

Hellas Verona defender Nicolo Casale is another name being closely linked with a move to the Biancocelesti.

However, the club will need to part with players before the squad can open up places for any new names. Vedat Muriqi, Jordon Lukaku, Denis Vavro, Jony and Manuel Lazzarri are the five names touted to leave Rome soon.
