Lazio Ready to Prolong Contract of Felipe Anderson

Luis Alberto isn’t the only one whose renewal with Lazio is incoming, as Felipe Anderson is next in line to get a new contract. The winger drew interest from Saudi Arabia, Al Shabab in particular, but decided to stay put. They signed Yannick Carrasco instead.

Per TuttoSport (via Calciomercato), the matter is a priority for the Biancocelesti. The deal of the winger runs out in 2024. However, as was the case with Pedro before the summer, they are in the driver’s seat to retain his services even should the talks go down to the wire.

Lazio aim to re-up with Felipe Anderson until 2027, slightly raising his wages to €3M per year. He has been an essential contributor since joining on a cheap deal from West Ham in the summer of 2021. He has featured in basically every game since.

The 30-year-old was instrumental in defeating Napoli in the most recent round. He assisted both Luis Alberto and Daichi Kamada. He posted 12 goals and 9 helpers in 50 appearances in the past campaign.

Our Take on Lazio and Felipe Anderson

The most surprising fact is that he’s been a true workhorse since heading back to Italy. While he’s not their glitziest toy, he’s always a nice weapon. With Pedro in his twilight years, they played it perfectly on the wings by adding a talent like Gustav Tang Isaksen too.
