Only a day after announcing the arrival of Daichi Kamada on a free transfer, Lazio are close to completing their third summer coup. According to Corriere dello Sport (via La Lazio Siamo Noi), Midtjylland winger Gustav Isaksen will land in Italy today to complete his move to the Stadio Olimpico.
Lazio and Midtjylland have already agreed terms for Isaksen’s imminent transfer to Serie A. Claudio Lotito’s side will shell out €12 million plus add-ons for the 22-year-old, who is about to put pen to paper on a five-year contract worth €1.2m net per season. The deal is now a mere formality.
Isaksen will be in Rome today before undergoing his medicals on Monday. It’s the final step before Lazio unveil him as their newest addition. The Italians have completed the bureaucratic process, exchanging the necessary paperwork with Midtjylland yesterday.
Capable of covering multiple positions down the right flank, Isaksen could prove a valuable asset for Lazio coach Maurizio Sarri. While he is primarily a winger, his versatility allows him to play as an offensive-minded right-back, a position predominantly occupied by Adam Marusic last season.
With Kamada and Isaksen, Lazio should secure much-needed strength in depth ahead of a long season. Sarri’s men upset the odds last term, sealing an unexpected runner-up finish in Serie A to return to the Champions League after a three-year absence.
That has incentivized Lotito to go aggressive in the transfer window. Besides the abovementioned duo, he has already captured Valentin Castellanos from New York City.

Luca Pellegrini is coming too and we likely have just secured Samuele Ricci from Torino. If not Ricci, Zielinsky must be in the card despite the Saudi offer links.
