Lazio Sign Pedro from Roma, Approach Financial Breakthrough

Lazio have quickly sealed the deal for Pedro, who emerged as a real option yesterday. The Spaniard took the medicals earlier today, and his arrival was announced by the club’s Twitter profile. He joined on a transfer from Roma.

The Giallorossi were content with shedding his sizeable salary from their books. They preferred a transfer to another Italian club to avoid giving back some tax savings. Lazio handed the attacker a two-year deal, reuniting him with Maurizio Sarri.

The reinforcement campaign of Lazio has been stalling so far due to an obscure financial parameter related to their liquidity. The club has yet to formally finalize any purchase. They need to correct it by Friday at noon if they want to have them available to face Empoli.

Since the sale of Joaquin Correa is not imminent, president Claudio Lotito will solve the issue first-hand. He will pour €10/15M into the club as an advance of a future capital increase, Corriere dello Sport informs. Afterward, they will be able to put Pedro, Felipe Anderson, Elseid Hysaj, Stefan Radu, and Luka Romero under contract.

Correa remains on his way out. Everton are tracking him, but the player would rather go to Inter, Alfredo Pedullà indicates. Simone Inzaghi is pushing to acquire the Argentinian forward, but the Nerazzurri have not met the asking price. Lazio will reinvest the money on Toma Basic and likely Filip Kostic. They have agreements in place with Bordeaux and Eintracht Frankfurt, but they are not in a position to complete them yet.
