Lazio Star Luis Alberto Makes Decision On His Future Amid Sevilla Talks

Wantaway Lazio star Luis Alberto has made up his mind on his future amid growing speculation linking him with a move to Sevilla. As per Gazzetta dello Sport, the gifted playmaker is keen to leave the Stadio Olimpico and return to La Liga by the end of the summer.

Alberto has reportedly told his friends that he wants to rejoin his boyhood club Sevilla. Before kicking off his international career at Liverpool in 2013, the attacking midfielder came through the ranks at Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan. He now aims to rekindle those memories.

Though Lazio have no interest in keeping hold of an unhappy player, they are firmly against letting him leave for free. The Biancocelesti have informed the Spaniard he would be allowed to fly back to his homeland if Sevilla come up with a reasonable offer.

Despite being handed a prominent role in Maurizio Sarri’s side, Alberto has grown tired of Lazio’s inability to compete for titles. He developed himself into one of the finest creative midfielders in Serie A since arriving from Liverpool in 2016.

Last season, he struggled with injuries, tumbling down the pecking order. But when fit and firing, he was one of the best-performing Lazio players. His imminent departure will force Sarri to dive back into the market to find a new advanced playmaker.

Lazio already lack strength in depth. With Alberto on his way out, things could get even more awkward for Sarri’s team next term. Alberto’s exit would at least allow them to keep Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.
