Lazio Star Throws Backhanded Compliment at New Juventus Ace

Ciro Immobile and Dusan Vlahovic are dueling to be the top scorer in Serie in 2021-2022. They have bagged 18 goals apiece so far. Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, who has featured next to both, weighed in on them to Lazio Style Magazine.

“They are two great strikers. My teammate is ten years older, so Dusan still has some work to do and grow, but he will surely become as strong as Immobile.” The Juventus newcomer has hit the net 7 times in 14 appearances with Serbia in the last couple of years.

Despite his team’s inconsistency, Milinkovic-Savic is putting together a career season. He has already matched his numbers from the entire previous campaign. He has found the target eight times and provided eight assists.

According to local newspaper Il Tempo, Milinkovic-Savic is poised for a pivotal summer. He is under contract until 2024 and would have to extend it again if he stayed put. There is a gentleman’s agreement in place with his agent: either he brings €60/70M offers, or the powerhouse will remain at Lazio and re-up his deal.

The ace hinted at the matter in a recent interview. He has often been on the radar of the top European clubs, primarily Manchester United and PSG, but nobody ever came close to his gigantic price tag, nor he pushed heard to leave. Milinkovic-Savic has been at Lazio since 2015 when he joined from Genk. He has lifted one Coppa Italia and two Supercoppa during his time in the Italian Capital.
